A case of peritonitis due to Salmonella typhimurium in a continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) patient is reported. A 49-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital with fever and abdominal pain. The peritoneal fluid was cloudy, and Salmonella typhymurium was isolated from the fluid by culture. The patient was treated with ciprofloxacin. To the knowledge of the authors, this is the first case of peritonitis due to S. typhimurium in a CAPD patient in the literature.
