For the diagnosis of allergic diseases physical findings, in vitro and in vivo tests are used. In recent years, rapid and highly sensitive tests are being used for the diagnosis of specific allergens. This study is planned to determine the allergens dominating in the Mersin Region, distribution according to gender, age, and seasonal characteristics. Total IgE and 35 allergen-specific IgE levels of 1435 who applied to different outpatient clinics of Mersin University Medical School were analysed by chemiluminescent method. Of the patients 51.5 % (738) were female, 33.2 % (476) male, 8.6 % (123) boys and 6.7 % (96) were girls. When the distribution of allergens were compared according to gender; trees and wild grass were seen predominantly in males ; while food, fungus, mite and animal epithelium were seen in females. Antigens were observed more in February, March, April, May and June, when the monthly distribution was analysed.
