Rubella virus and cytomegalovirus(CMV) infections are important risk factors in pregnancy because of their fetal damage potential.
The aim of this study was to determine these two risk factors in pregnant women. For rubella IgG screening a total number of 488
blood samples (mean 30.98) and for CMV IgG screening 282 blood samples (mean 31.26) collected from pregnant women 18 to 45
years of age who attended Ege University Clinical Microbiology Laboratory were included in the study. Rubella seropositivity was
detected in 95.9 % and CMV seropositivity was detected in 98.2 % of the pregnants.
