The purpose of this retrospective study was to determine the seasonal and age distribution of Rotavirus gastroenteritis in patients applying to the Parasitology Laboratory of Konya Research and Education Hospital between November 1, 2007 and October 31, 2008. In patients with complaints of diarrehea, abdominal pain, vomiting and fever, the presence of Rotaviruses was investigated using RIDA Quick Rotavirus (R-biopharm, Germany) kits. Rotaviruses were determined in a total of 1258 feces samples (21 %). Rotaviruses were detection was highest in children aged 0-1 (86.1 %). Rotavirus diarrhea showed the highest frequency in winter months (37.5 %).
