The purpose of this paper is to draw attention to atypical presentations of brucellosis. A prospective study was carried out on 240 consecutive patients with brucellosis who were hospitalized between December 1999 and July 2002. Among these cases 11 patients had unusual clinical presentations. Two patients with neurobrucellosis, peritonitis, pericarditis, pancytopenia, uveitis and one with epididymo-orchitis who had atypical presentations were evaluated with their clinical and laboratory findings. In patients living in or coming from endemic regions, considering brucellosis in the differential diagnosis may lead to early diagnosis and treatment and may decrease the complications.
