Acute hepatitis-C is a serious infectious disease caused by Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). In 85% of the cases, HCV infection becomes chronic. This chronic infection can eventually cause cirrhosis and hepatocelluler cancer. The main transmission route is of HCV is percutan or permucosal. Thus, HCV infection can also be nosocomial. Recently acute hepatitis-C is being treated with interferon alpha-2b which prevents chronic infection. In this paper, a 52-year-old male case with nosocomial acute hepatitis-C treated with interferon is presented.
